It was the year 1968 when Frank Hendershot, Carl Clift, and Wayne Spagner quit their jobs to work full-time as Quality Transformer & Electronics founders and employees.

Quality Transformer & Electronics, still in its infancy, began with sound principles—tested and proven engineering, hand-crafted units, and a close scrutiny to detail—ensuring each transformer was built with quality.
Hard at Work
Our humble origins started in a small warehouse in Palo Alto, California, before moving to Milpitas, California. Engineering, designing, and building transformers themselves, Carl and Frank built a company that could be relied upon for custom, high-quality transformers and electrical assemblies.

Focus on Large and Small Custom Designed Transformers
Our founders wanted to deliver our custom designs and high-quality craftsmanship to transformers of all sizes and applications. With that as our benchmark, we have been designing transformers large and small, from 5 VA up to 2 mVA.
Expanding Operations
In 1976, Quality Transformer expanded its operations to a new 35,000 sqft. facility, enabling us to provide better customization at higher volumes.
10 Years
In 1978, Quality Transformer and Electronics celebrated our 10 Year Anniversary of providing numerous government agencies and Fortune 500 companies with quality solutions to meet their electro-magnetic demands.

Today, in 2025, QT&E is a trusted supplier of precision electrical transformers, proudly serving diverse industries and Fortune 500 companies with mission-critical applications. With two state-of-the-art facilities spanning over 100,000 square feet, we deliver unmatched reliability and innovation to power the future.
