Configurable Options in our Phase Shift Transformers

Electrical

Power Rating

Specify the required power by calculating secondary voltage multiplied by current. ex. 10 kVA. QT&E supports power ranges from:

1 VA - 1 kVA
1 kVA - 100 kVA
100 kVA - 1.5 MVA

Frequency

Define the operating frequency of your system (e.g., 50 Hz, 60 Hz, or custom). ex. 60 Hz. QT&E supports frequencies from:

50 Hz or 60 Hz

Phases

Choose between single-phase or three-phase configurations to match your application requirements; QT&E designs for both types. ex. 3PH.

Three-phase

Inputs & Outputs

Indicate the number, voltage, and current ratings for primary and secondary windings; QT&E accommodates a wide range of configurations and load profiles. ex. Input: 480V, Output: 120/240V split-phase.

1 V up to 600 V (up to 1.5 MVA)
600V up to 30 kV
(current or power rating needed along with voltage)

Phase Shift

Specify the required phase shift angle for your application, typically used to control power flow, reduce harmonic interactions, or manage phase alignment in multi-transformer systems. ex. 15o

15o
30o
45o

Impedance

State the desired impedance to control voltage regulation and fault currents; QT&E provides custom designs to meet specific impedance values. ex. 4% (typical range: 2% to 8%)

K-rating

Specify a K-factor to handle harmonic loads. ex. K-13 (designed for harmonic loads in data centers). QT&E supports:

K-1 (standard)
K-4, K-13, K-20 for data centers and other sensitive applications

Harmonic Mitigation

Specify harmonic reduction needs to improve power quality; QT&E provides designs with specialized cores and K-rated transformers. ex. Reduces THD to <5%

Load Balancing

Describe requirements for balancing loads across phases; QT&E offers solutions to improve phase balance in single- or three-phase systems. ex. ±3% balance between phases

Voltage Regulation

Indicate tolerance for voltage fluctuations; QT&E ensures precise regulation through advanced winding and core designs. ex. ±1% under varying loads

Mechanical

Temperature Rise

Specify the allowable temperature rise above ambient for your application (measured in °C), typically based on insulation class or operational needs. ex. 80°C (standard for Class B).

Dimensions

Define the physical size constraints (height, width, depth) to fit your installation space. ex. H: 24 in, W: 18 in, D: 12 in

Enclosure

Indicate the required enclosure type based on environmental conditions, such as indoor, outdoor, or hazardous locations. ex. NEMA 1 (indoor use). Options include:

NEMA 1: Standard
NEMA 2
NEMA 3 + 3R: Protection from falling water.
NEMA 4 + 4X:
Water proof, fully enclosed.
NEMA 6

Circuit Protection

Specify integrated circuit protection needs, such as fuses or breakers, for overload and fault conditions. ex. Primary & Secondary circuit breakers. Options include:

Circuit breakers
Fuses

Seismic Kits

Indicate if seismic bracing is needed to meet building codes in earthquake-prone areas. ex. Designed for Zone 4 seismic compliance

Cooling Method

Specify the cooling method required, such as natural convection, forced air, or liquid cooling, based on operating environment and power density. ex. Forced air cooling with fans or Liquid-cooled system
